ABB 1SFA896115R7000 PSR105-600-70 Soft starter is a compact 105 A three-phase soft starter from ABB’s PSR series, intended for smooth starting and stopping of AC induction motors. It operates on a 208–600 V AC main circuit voltage with a 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz control supply. ABB India lists this model for approximately 55 kW / 75 HP motor applications. The PSR105-600-70 uses two-phase controlled voltage-ramp technology to reduce starting torque shocks, electrical disturbances, belt and coupling wear, and mechanical stress compared with direct-on-line starting. It includes a built-in bypass, helping reduce energy losses and heat generation after the motor reaches normal operating speed. Start and stop ramp settings are adjusted using three potentiometers on the front panel. The unit provides RUN and TOR relay outputs, and optional Fieldbus communication can be added through an external adapter and Fieldbus Plug. ABB states that PSR soft starters can handle up to 100 starts per hour, with typical applications including pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and general industrial motor-control systems.
