ABB 1SFA896114R7000 PSR85-600-70 Soft starter is an 85 A three-phase motor soft starter from ABB’s compact PSR series. It is designed for smooth acceleration and deceleration of three-phase induction motors, with a 208–600 V AC main operational voltage and 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz control supply. ABB India specifies this model for approximately 45 kW / 60 HP motor applications. The PSR85-600-70 uses two-phase controlled voltage-ramp soft starting and stopping, which helps reduce mechanical shocks, abrupt starting torque, belt and coupling wear, and electrical disturbances associated with direct-on-line starting. It incorporates a built-in bypass contactor, reducing power losses and heat generation after the motor reaches full operating speed. Start and stop ramp settings are adjusted using three front-mounted potentiometers. The soft starter also provides RUN and TOR relay outputs and supports optional Fieldbus communication using an external adapter and Fieldbus Plug. ABB states that the PSR range can handle up to 100 starts per hour, with common applications including pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors.
