ABB 1SFA896112R7000 PSR60-600-70 Soft starter is a compact 60 A three-phase soft starter from ABB’s PSR series, designed for smooth starting and stopping of AC induction motors. It supports a 208–600 V AC main operational voltage and a 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz control supply. ABB India lists this model for approximately 30 kW / 40 HP motor applications. The PSR60-600-70 uses two-phase controlled voltage-ramp technology to progressively control motor voltage during start and stop. This helps reduce mechanical shock, sudden torque, pressure surges, belt and coupling wear, and electrical stress compared with direct-on-line motor starting. The unit also features a built-in bypass contactor, improving energy efficiency and reducing heat generation once the motor reaches normal operating speed. The start/stop ramp and initial voltage settings are adjusted through three potentiometers on the front panel. The soft starter provides RUN and TOR relay outputs and can be integrated with ABB manual motor starters. Optional Fieldbus communication is supported through an external adapter and Fieldbus Plug. ABB states that the PSR range can handle up to 100 starts per hour, making it suitable for pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, HVAC equipment and general industrial machinery.
