ABB 1SFA896111R7000 PSR45-600-70 Soft starter is a compact 45 A three-phase motor soft starter from ABB’s PSR series. It is designed for smooth starting and stopping of AC induction motors and operates across a 208–600 V AC main voltage range with a 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz control supply. At 400 V, ABB rates this model for approximately 22 kW / 30 HP motor applications. The PSR45-600-70 uses two-phase controlled voltage-ramp starting and stopping, reducing mechanical shock, sudden torque, electrical disturbances, coupling wear, belt stress, and pressure surges compared with direct-on-line starting. A built-in bypass contactor is integrated into the unit, helping reduce heat generation and power losses once the motor reaches full operating speed. Start and stop ramp settings are adjustable through three front-mounted potentiometers. The unit provides RUN and TOR relay outputs and supports optional Fieldbus communication using an external adapter and ABB Fieldbus Plug.
