ABB 1SFA896110R7000 PSR37-600-70 Soft starter is a compact 37 A three-phase soft starter from ABB’s PSR series, designed for controlled starting and stopping of AC induction motors. It supports a 208–600 V AC main operational voltage and 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz control supply. ABB India lists this model for approximately 18.5 kW / 25 HP motor applications. The PSR37-600-70 uses two-phase controlled voltage-ramp technology for soft starting and soft stopping. This reduces mechanical shock, abrupt torque, pressure surges, belt and coupling wear, and electrical stress compared with direct-on-line starting. It also includes a built-in bypass contactor, improving energy efficiency and reducing heat generation once the motor reaches normal operating speed. The start and stop ramps are adjusted through three front-mounted potentiometers. RUN and TOR status signals are available through normally-open relay outputs. The unit can also be combined with ABB manual motor starters and supports optional Fieldbus communication through an external adapter and Fieldbus Plug. Typical applications include pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, HVAC systems, process machinery and industrial motor-control panels.
