ABB 1SFA896109R1100 PSR30-600-11 Soft starter is a compact 30 A three-phase soft starter from ABB’s PSR series. It is designed for smooth starting and stopping of AC induction motors with a 208–600 V AC main operating voltage and 24 V AC/DC control supply. ABB specifies the model for 15 kW motor power at 400 V; depending on supply voltage, the rated in-line motor power is approximately 7.5 kW at 230 V, 15 kW at 400 V, and 18.5 kW at 500 V. The PSR30-600-11 uses two-phase voltage-ramp control for soft start and soft stop. This reduces starting torque shock, mechanical wear, electrical stress, belt and coupling strain compared with direct-on-line starting. It includes a built-in bypass contactor, helping reduce heat generation and energy losses during normal motor operation. ABB states that the PSR range can handle up to 100 starts per hour and is commonly used for pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and general industrial machinery. Optional Fieldbus communication can be added using an external adapter and Fieldbus plug.
