ABB 1SFA896108R7000 PSR25-600-70 Soft starter is a compact 25 A three-phase motor soft starter from ABB’s PSR series, designed for smooth starting and stopping of AC induction motors. It operates on a main circuit voltage of 208–600 V AC and uses a 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz control supply. For IEC applications, it is suitable for approximately 11 kW motor power at 400 V. The PSR25-600-70 uses two-phase controlled voltage ramp technology to progressively increase or decrease motor voltage during start and stop. This helps reduce mechanical shocks, starting-current disturbances, belt wear, coupling stress and pressure surges in applications such as pumps and conveyors. The unit includes a built-in bypass contactor, reducing energy losses and heat generation during normal motor operation. Start and stop parameters are adjusted through front-mounted potentiometers. The unit also provides RUN and TOR relay indications and supports optional Fieldbus communication through an external adapter. ABB describes the PSR family as its compact soft starter range for applications requiring basic soft-start/soft-stop functionality and frequent motor starting.
