ABB 1SFA896107R1100 PSR16-600-11 Soft starter is a compact 16 A three-phase soft starter from ABB’s PSR series, designed for controlled starting and stopping of AC induction motors. It supports a 208–600 V AC main operational voltage and uses a 24 V AC/DC control supply. ABB documentation lists this model for approximately 7.5 kW motor power at 400 V and 10 HP at 460 V. The PSR16-600-11 uses two-phase voltage-ramp control for soft start and soft stop, helping reduce mechanical shock, sudden torque and electrical disturbances compared with direct-on-line starting. It has a built-in bypass, which reduces heat generation and power loss once the motor reaches normal operating speed. The start/stop ramp is adjusted through three potentiometers on the front panel, and a RUN signal is available through a normally-open relay output. ABB’s PSR range is designed for compact motor-control applications and can handle up to 100 starts per hour. Common applications include pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, HVAC systems, industrial machines and motor-control panels. Optional Fieldbus communication can also be added using an external adapter and Fieldbus plug.
