ABB 1SYN412342R3800 (SDA-75) is a fully automatic Star-Delta motor starter intended for controlled starting of large three-phase induction motors. This model is the 220–230 V AC control-coil variant of ABB’s SDA-75 starter and is suitable for approximately 75 HP / 55 kW motor applications at 415 V AC. During startup, the motor windings are initially connected in star configuration, reducing the starting current and starting torque compared with Direct-On-Line starting. After the preset transition time, the starter automatically changes the motor connection to delta configuration for normal operation. Typical applications include large pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, conveyors, HVAC systems, process machinery and industrial motor-control panels.
