ABB 1SYN282322R3800 (SDA-30) is a fully automatic Star-Delta motor starter designed for controlled starting of 30 HP / 22 kW three-phase induction motors. The ordering-code structure confirms that the “38” voltage code corresponds to a 220–230 V control coil, while “86” denotes the 400–415 V version. During starting, the motor is initially connected in star configuration, helping reduce starting current compared with Direct-On-Line starting. After the preset transition period, the starter automatically switches the motor to delta configuration for normal operation. Typical applications include pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, conveyors, HVAC equipment, machine tools and industrial process machinery.
