ABB 1SYN184322R3800 (SDA-12.5) is a fully automatic Star-Delta motor starter designed for controlled starting of three-phase induction motors. This variant uses a 220–230 V AC control coil and is intended for approximately 12.5 HP motor applications at 415 V AC. During startup, the starter initially connects the motor windings in star configuration, helping reduce starting current compared with Direct-On-Line starting. After the preset transition period, it automatically changes the motor connection to delta configuration for normal operation. It is suitable for applications such as pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, conveyors, HVAC systems, machine tools and industrial process equipment where lower starting current and reduced mechanical stress are preferred.
