It is designed to provide fuse less overload and short-circuit protection for control transformers used in industrial panels, automation equipment and machinery. The unit has an adjustable current range of 1.0–1.6 A and a rated operational current of 1.6 A. The MS132-1.6T uses a fixed instantaneous short-circuit trip setting of approximately 20 times the rated operational current, equivalent to about 32 A.
