ABB 1SAM250000R1013 (MS116-20) is a compact Manual Motor Starter (MMS), also commonly known as a Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB), designed for manual switching, isolation and protection of electric motors. It provides an adjustable overload setting range of 16 to 20 A, with a maximum rated operational current of 20 A and trip class 10A. The MS116-20 protects motors against overload, short-circuit and phase-failure conditions. ABB specifies a rated service short-circuit breaking capacity (Ics) of 10 kA at 400 V AC and a rated insulation voltage of 690 V. The unit uses 3-pole construction and screw terminals in a compact 45 mm-wide housing. ABB’s latest MS116 data sheet specifies a corresponding rated operational motor power of 7.5 kW at 400 V AC-3 for the MS116-20. The device also includes a disconnect function, temperature compensation, trip-free mechanism and clear ON/OFF rotary-handle indication.
