ABB 1SAM250000R1012 (MS116-12) is a compact Manual Motor Starter (MMS), also commonly known as a Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB), designed for switching, isolation and protection of electric motors. It features an adjustable thermal overload setting range of 8 to 12 A, a rated operational current of 12 A, and trip class 10A. At 400 V AC, ABB specifies a 25 kA rated service short-circuit breaking capacity (Ics). The magnetic short-circuit release is approximately 180 A. The MS116-12 has a 3-pole, 45 mm-wide design, 690 V insulation rating, screw terminals and DIN-rail mounting. ABB also specifies features including a built-in disconnect function, temperature compensation, trip-free operation and a rotary handle with clear switch-position indication. It can be used in both three-phase and single-phase applications.
