ABB 1SAM250000R1008 (MS116-4.0) is a compact Manual Motor Starter (MMS), also commonly referred to as a Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB), designed for switching, isolation and protection of electric motors. The device provides an adjustable thermal overload current range of 2.5 to 4.0 A, with a maximum rated operational current of 4 A and trip class 10A. Integrated thermal and magnetic protection functions help protect connected motors against overload, short-circuit and phase-failure conditions. The MS116-4.0 features a 3-pole, 45 mm-wide design, 690 V rated insulation voltage, screw-terminal connections and a manual rotary operating mechanism. It can also be combined with compatible ABB accessories including auxiliary contacts, signaling contacts, shunt trips and undervoltage releases. Typical applications include pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, machine tools, OEM machinery, electrical control panels and industrial automation systems.
