The ABB OVR T2 40-275s P QS (2CTB815704R1200) is a Type 2 surge protective device designed to protect low-voltage electrical installations and connected equipment against transient overvoltage's caused by lightning-induced surges and switching operations. Tested in accordance with IEC/EN 61643-11, this single-pole device is suitable for compatible TT, TN-C and TN-S electrical distribution systems with a nominal system voltage of 230/400 V AC. It has a maximum continuous operating voltage of 275 V AC, a nominal discharge current of 20 kA and a maximum discharge current of 40 kA using an 8/20 μs current waveform. The device provides a voltage protection level of 1.4 kV and incorporates ABB's reserve-varistor technology, which maintains basic surge protection at the end of the primary varistor's service life until the device is replaced. Its compact, plug-in design is compatible with the ABB System pro M compact product range and supports mounting on a standard 35 mm DIN rail. It is suitable for residential, commercial and industrial distribution boards requiring Type 2 surge protection.
