Surge protective devices (SPDs) of Type 2 protect low-voltage consumer systems against surge voltages. This device is tested as a Type 2 SPD according to IEC 61643-11 and is compatible with the ABB System pro M compact series. The TS variant is optionally equipped with an auxiliary contact for remote status signaling. It uses a pluggable protection module and Quick Safe thermal protection technology. It is intended primarily for installation in main or sub-distribution boards to protect electrical equipment against indirect lightning-induced surges and switching overvoltage's.
