ABB 1SYN140318R8605 (MA-0.50) is a compact Direct-On-Line (DOL) motor starter designed for reliable starting, stopping and protection of small three-phase induction motors. The starter is rated for approximately 0.50 HP / 0.37 kW at 415 V AC, 50 Hz and is supplied in the 400–415 V coil version. The MA-0.50 starter uses a 16 A contactor together with a T25DU 1.4 overload relay, providing motor overload protection during abnormal operating conditions. ABB selection data recommends a 4 A backup fuse for this particular motor rating. Typical applications include water pumps, small compressors, fans, blowers, conveyors, machine tools, workshop machinery and general industrial motor-control panels.
