ABB 1SBN033405T1000 – VM96-4 is a mechanical interlock unit designed for use with compatible ABB AF contactors, particularly the AF40 through AF96 range. It is installed between two contactors and mechanically prevents one contactor from closing while the other contactor is already in the closed position. This provides a positive physical interlocking function independent of the electrical control circuit.

The VM96-4 is commonly used in applications where simultaneous operation of two contactors must be avoided, including forward/reverse motor starters, reversing circuits, changeover arrangements, transfer circuits and other interlocked contactor combinations.
