The ABB AF38-22-00-12 Contactor, Part No. 1SBL297501R1200, is a compact 4-pole power contactor designed for industrial switching applications requiring both normally-open and normally-closed main poles. Its 2 NO + 2 NC configuration is particularly suitable for resistance heating, HVAC systems, lighting and power-control circuits, OEM machinery, industrial automation panels, and general-purpose load switching. For AC-1 general switching, ABB rates this model at 55 A at 690 V and 40°C, reducing to 45 A at 60°C and 37 A at 70°C. The conventional free-air thermal current is 55 A. For AC-3 duty, ABB specifies 22 A at 380/400 V, corresponding to 11 kW at 400 V.
